Bio

 

“• Executive Director of the Hernando Heritage Museum for over 20 years.

• Rescued the May-Stringer House from demolition when she became involved in

making it the home for historic preservation in the city.

• Virginia further pursued her mission with her local history column in the Hernando

Times.

• Virginia also oversaw the restoration of the 1885 Russell Street Train Depot and the

museum that developed there.

• She wrote more than 25 books on the history of Hernando County and donated the

proceeds from all her books back to the Heritage Museum of Brooksville.

• She was named Brooksvillian of the Year in 2004.”
