Brothers RT and Russy Hancock with Grandfather WS Hancock

Robert Terry “RT” Hancock Jr. and William Russell “Russy” Jr. were the sons of RT Hancock Sr., a Hernando County Commissioner and owned the second Ford Agency in all of Florida - right here in Brooksville!  The boys’ Grandpa, William Silas “WS” Hancock, was an original trustee of the Brooksville Railroad Association and Secretary of the Brooksville Telegraph Company.  He also served as an inaugural Alderman when the city was founded in 1880.

Both boys grew up in Brooksville.  After serving in the Navy in WWII, RT Jr. worked as a pharmacist at Bacon’s Drugs and then established Hancock Pharmacy.  Russy was a real estate broker and a property appraiser for Florida and served in the Army during the Korean War.
