The History
From 1924 to 1931 Mr. J.S. Simpson operated a car sales agency and mechanical department at this location. In 1931, ownership changed to the Coogler Brothers who maintained a car sales and mechanic shop. An article in the Brooksville Journal newspaper states, “Announcement was made Friday of last week (January 16, 1931) of the sale by J.S. Simpson of the Chevrolet Agency in this city to Messrs Alvin and Frank Coogler who took charge immediately.” According to the Brooksville Journal, it was the Cooglers’ intention to make some improvements to the building and retain the former employees.
